How Kennel Svolværgeita was founded

In 1984 Bianca gave birth to a dog called Charm. It was the first dog born in kennel Svolværgeita and hopefully will be remembered as the first and only dalmatian that was trained in avalanche rescue, and in 1991 he was titled the "most obedient dog"  by the Norwegian Dalmatian Club.

There have been many dogs that have made a home in Svolværgeita since its doors opened. The third dog to arrive in Svolværgeita was "Nova" or Int. N. & S. Ch. Spotniks Innova, bought from Helle and Ole Christian Høie in 1987. To improve the breeding, another three dogs were introduced to the kennel. These were obtained from the Dallyvista kennel owned by Brenda and Malcolm Smith. The Smiths are wonderful and sincere people who know how to help anyone from the North. Because of this, as the years went on, I travelled between the UK and Norway many times. The result of these expeditions were the two imports that became the foundations of Kennel Svolværgeita. Undoubtedly, the most important of these was Poser or N. & S. Ch. Dallyvista Status Quo, which is the official name of the kennel. Her siblings from Svolvæargeita's J-Breed, - N. Ch. Svolværgeita's Just Tanya, M-breed,- N. & S. Ch. Svolværgeita's Marcus Only, and Q-breed,- N. & S. Ch. Svolværgeita Quality Choice are the foundations of the genes I am in control of today.

The other imports that were made, included a dog Dallyvista Deep Purple (Tryfan) and a friendly bitch N & S Ch. Cocheperro out O the World (Haley). Haley is the mother to Svolværgeita's O- and R-litter and was bred by Maureen and Raymond Bull. Another contribution to the kennel was a bitch who was born at Kari Ditlevsen's kennel, Perdita.  Perdita´s Kind O´Magic ("Bianca") has managed to win the Nordic Champion title. She has also won four CACs and a lot of 'Best-in-Show' placements. I am very grateful to Kari that I could buy Bianca from her in 1997. She has undoubtedly given Svolværgeita a valuable asset.

Svolværgeita's W-breed, which was born on the 30th March 2000 was Bianca's first offspring and was fathered by Marcus. This resulted in the birth of eight beautiful puppies. From this combination, I held on to one promising bitch with the name of Svolværgeita's White Witch ("Tina"). Tina has excellent temperament and was listed among the "Top Ten" according to the Norwegian Dalmatian Club´s Winner List for 2001. (Picture of "Tina" in the archive.)   Even in  2002 and 2003 she is represented on the winner list.  She also gained her Norwegian and Swedish Championship title this year. Among her very best show results in 2002 was the International Swedish  Kennel Club Show in Gällivare.  Here  she was placed 2. Best In Show !   Bianca and Marcus are also parents to N. & S. Ch. Svolvaergeita´s Wild Rose,  N. & S. Ch. Svolvaergeita´s Zicara and N. Ch.
Svolvaergeita´s Zita O´ Magic.

Svolvaergeita´s  G-litter is Bianca´s last litter. It´s  probably the very best litter I have bred.
From this litter I have kept a promising bitch;  Svolvaergeita´s Guardian Angel.  I look forward to showing her next year.

New member of the Svolvaergeita family is a young dog, Dalstable Checkmate. "Allan" is still a youngster.  He has participated on 4 Puppy Shows winning Best in Show twice. He has also been placed BIS 2 and BIS 4. Allan has gained CK at the Dalmatian Special Show this summer. His father is Int. & Multich. Spotniks Red River - mostwinning dalmatian in Norway 2001 and 2002.  His mother is N. & S. Ch. Dalstable Alannah. His breeder is Eileen Strand.  Her kennel Dalstable is linked from my site.
